Tip: Want even more secure browsers? Enable DNS over HTTPS

Internet security is often focused on stealing user data and what attackers can steal from browsers. To ensure that the best is achieved, there are areas that are often improved and that should be protected.
There are, however, some less visible features that are being prepared and that provide additional security. One of them, DNS over HTTPS, is being prepared to arrive soon, and guarantee even more security. Today we show you how to activate it in the main browsers.
DNS HTTPS browsers Firefox Chromium
Quite simply, DNS over HTTPS is a change that has been in the works for some time. It will force browsers to make DNS queries over secure channels, using HTTPS. For this, browsers need to be prepared, as well as DNS services themselves.
Enable DNS over HTTPS in Firefox
One browser that already has this feature ready to use is Firefox. In the US it is already enabled by default, but anyone can use it. Just go to Settings , and in the General tab you should access the Network Settings area .

Then, click on the Settings button and scroll down to the b Wuhan Mobile Number List ottom of the window that opens. Then select the Enable DNS over HTTPS option and ensure that one of the providers is active. You can choose Cloudflare or NextDNS. From that moment on, DNS requests will be even more secure.
Chromium-based browsers
Google has also invested in this area and Chromiu Denmark Phone Number List m already has this functionality ready to be activated. Simply type chrome://flags (or edge://flags or similar) in the address bar and search for DNS .

The Secure DNS lookups option will be displayed , which should be changed to Enabled . You will be asked to restart your browser by clicking the blue button in the bottom right corner. After restarting your browser, this new mode will be active.
This is not an option that is visible to the user or makes the browser faster. It does provide an additional layer of security that is essential for anyone browsing the Internet today. You can test this new feature by accessing the address 1.1.1.1/help .
